Le Merigot Hotel and Blush Ultralounge and Tapas Bar Grand Opening



Evansville, Indiana - Casino Aztar today announced the grand opening date for the newest additions to The District at Casino Aztar in downtown Evansville.

Le Merigot Hotel and Blush Ultralounge and Tapas Bar will open to the public on Thursday, December 28, 2006. Located directly across from the recently opened Jillian's Billiards Club and Ri Ra's Irish Pub and Restaurant, Blush and Le Merigot will complete the first phase of Casino Aztar's Downtown Waterfront Entertainment District Project.

"We are absolutely thrilled about opening Le Merigot and Blush," said Jim Brown, president and general manager of Casino Aztar. "These two venues are spectacular and the first of their kind in Southwestern Indiana. Both will offer local and regional visitors a fresh, new entertainment experience."

Le Merigot, loosely translated, signifies "by the water," and was designed by renowned Los Angeles-based interior designer Laurence Lee. This 100-room boutique hotel promises the finest hotel experience in the region where every detail has been designed to create a coolly sophisticated, intimate, and pampered getaway.

A departure from the traditional hotel experience, Le Merigot will offer a seamless mix of warmth and technology. Guests can slide between imported Italian bed linens and goose-down duvets at night and wake up to Starbucks coffee service in the morning. Guestroom indulgences include plush micro-fleece robes and slippers, LCD flat screen televisions in both bedroom and bath, in-room high-speed Internet access, MP3 input, glass-enclosed showers with multi-unit body sprays and overhead rain maker showerheads. In addition, guests will have access to state-of-the-art fitness equipment, valet parking, and more. The amenities and personalized service of Le Merigot at Casino Aztar's The District will make this riverside hotel the perfect get away for both relaxation and exhilaration.

For slightly more adventurous travelers, Le Merigot will offer five grand suites, each offering an intoxicating view of Evansville's riverfront and Entertainment District. The suites at Le Merigot will offer a spacious living/dining room area, master bedroom and an oversized bathroom, complete with an effervescent soaking tub.

Blush, Evansville's first ultralounge, has been designed to convey an exotic, cosmopolitan cool to the heart of the Midwest. Located on the first floor of Le Merigot, Blush promises to bring the sleekness and fantasy of metropolitan night clubs to the Evansville riverfront.
